We excited to announce Scorecard 2.0 will be coming out in April. The private beta test is starting up now and we plan on moving through it fairly quickly. Scorecard 2 is already feature complete and testing will be to mainly ensure that we’ve dotted our Is and crossed the Ts.

A few of the features coming in 2.0:

  • Nine hole round support – this has been our most requested feature since 1.0 shipped.
  • Graphing of almost all starts – the graphing system allows you to graph and compare up to 3 stats at once.
  • Markers – Markers can be set for any date and can be used as the starting date for your stats. They also appear on the graphs so that you can see how we’ll you’ve played since you bought the new drive, took a lesson, or for any other reason that you choose.
  • Per hole notes – you can now keep a note for each hole to help track what happened when you played.

Those are just the highlights. There are many more small enhancements and speed improvements in it also. We think you guys will be very happy with the improvements we’ve made.

The upgrade will be $14.95, half price, for all Scorecard 1.x owners. In addition the upgrade will be free for anyone who purchased Scored in calendar year 2009!

We do still have a few spots open for the beta test. If you’re a 1.x owner and would like to join the test, please email support letting us know. We can’t take everyone, but we’ll try to get a bunch of you in.

An update for Scorecard for the iPhone and iPod Touch has submitted to Apple. It fixes what looks to be the main problems people were having with the sync hanging when trying to sync rounds to your Mac or Windows desktop. It also has a bunch of memory fixes and improvements to the memory handling. We recommend everyone updating to it as soon as it’s available.

We’ll update this post once it clears Apple’s approval process and is live. This usually takes a few days depending on Apple’s current approval load.

The update is now on the store. Please run a check for updates in iTunes’ Applications section.

Good news everybody! Preliminary testing shows that the current version of Rivet works with the New Xbox Experience (NXE) update that came out this morning. All of the files I’ve attempted to play so far, play correctly. I haven’t tried every file type yet, but I’ve done all the ones you guys are most likely to be using.

I did have one small hiccup though that I want to give a heads up on. You have to redownload the media pack again to play some file types. I ran into this the first time I tried to play an xvid file. Fortunately, Microsoft made it really painless. The first time you try to play one, it present an error dialog saying the the update is needed and gives you a prompt to download it from Xbox Live. The screen will say you’ve already downloaded it. Just download to your hard drive again and your good to go. The Xbox will take care of everything else when you try to play the video again.

I have a feeling a couple features that we’ve gotten many requests one might have support now too. I’m not going to say what they are yet to not get people’s hopes up on specific items until I know more. I’m going to be exploring the possibilities and hopefully we’ll be able to add a couple cool new things.

It looks like the fall update is close to being released with Xbox Live being down for maintenance. It has some pretty big changes coming in both the look and the functionality. At this time we do not know if any of the changes will break Rivet. We’re in the same boat as all of you and don’t get any early access or testing on it. If something does break, we’ll be getting an update out as quick as possible for it (I’m not only the president, I’m also a client). I’ll update this post as soon as I can test on it to let everyone know if anything was broken or not.

If you’re receiving an error with Scorecard for Windows 1.3 on launch, please upgrade to v1.4. You can download it from here.

There error is due to a problem with the update notification system that was added in 1.3. The 1.4 release is actually triggering the error for you. This issue has been resolved in 1.4 and upgrading is the recommended fix.
