Scorecard 2.1 is now available for download from Cynical Peak’s website for both Mac and Windows! Scorecard 2.1 changes the way nine-hole rounds are matched for stats to provide a more accurate picture of your abilities.

In Scorecard 2.0, 9-hole rounds were paired to form an 18-hole round for all stat calculations with the restriction that the rounds had to be played within 14 days of each other. A nine-hole round that did not have a round to pair with was then dropped from the stat calculation.

In Scorecard 2.1, the nine-hole pairing only occurs when viewing “All Holes.” If you set the stats to only view the front nine, back nine, par 3, par 4, par 5, or an individual hole number the rounds are no longer paired and no rounds will be dropped. The change provides you with a more accurate representation of your entire game play and it also fixes a few anomalies and bugs that the old system presented in some cases.

Changes in Scorecard Mac:

  • Changed the method used to pair rounds for stats. The change will provide more accurate stats when mixing nine- and 18-hole rounds by allowing all rounds to be included when not viewing all holes.
  • Fixed an issue that caused a stat error in some cases where nine- and 18-hole rounds are mixed.
  • Fixed displaying the high and low eclectics.
  • Fixed the default update URL.

Changes in Scorecard Windows:

  • Changed the method used to pair rounds for stats. The change will provide more accurate stats when mixing nine- and 18-hole rounds by allowing all rounds to be included when not viewing all holes.
  • Fixed an issue that caused a stat error in some cases where nine- and 18-hole rounds are mixed.
  • Fixed an issue which in some cases could cause an error when saving an edited course.
  • Inactive rounds are no longer included in stats and graphs
  • Fixed an issue with wrong HTML formatting with negative round differentials
  • Improved the error handling when trying to export to a location without proper write permissions
  • Removed the requirement for having the Microsoft Chart Controls installed. The controls are now included within the app instead
  • Users are no longer required to install Bonjour for Windows to enable syncing with iPhone. Uses Bonjour from iTunes instead.

Scorecard 2.0.1 for the iPhone is now available.  You can download it from iTunes.  Scorecard 2.0.1 for iPhone fixes a number of issues from 2.0.  The main one being the number of holes played setting not always being preserved.  It also fixes the font issue with notes and a possible crash if you switch the round from being 18-holes to 9-holes.

If you enjoy using Scorecard, please make sure to rate it on iTunes.  We’re fighting an uphill battle with people giving it a 1 star rating due to not understanding that it’s a companion app that we are providing, for free, to our desktop users.   Thank you for any ratings or reviews that you give.

We excited to announce Scorecard 2.0 will be coming out in April. The private beta test is starting up now and we plan on moving through it fairly quickly. Scorecard 2 is already feature complete and testing will be to mainly ensure that we’ve dotted our Is and crossed the Ts.

A few of the features coming in 2.0:

  • Nine hole round support – this has been our most requested feature since 1.0 shipped.
  • Graphing of almost all starts – the graphing system allows you to graph and compare up to 3 stats at once.
  • Markers – Markers can be set for any date and can be used as the starting date for your stats. They also appear on the graphs so that you can see how we’ll you’ve played since you bought the new drive, took a lesson, or for any other reason that you choose.
  • Per hole notes – you can now keep a note for each hole to help track what happened when you played.

Those are just the highlights. There are many more small enhancements and speed improvements in it also. We think you guys will be very happy with the improvements we’ve made.

The upgrade will be $14.95, half price, for all Scorecard 1.x owners. In addition the upgrade will be free for anyone who purchased Scored in calendar year 2009!

We do still have a few spots open for the beta test. If you’re a 1.x owner and would like to join the test, please email support letting us know. We can’t take everyone, but we’ll try to get a bunch of you in.

An update for Scorecard for the iPhone and iPod Touch has submitted to Apple. It fixes what looks to be the main problems people were having with the sync hanging when trying to sync rounds to your Mac or Windows desktop. It also has a bunch of memory fixes and improvements to the memory handling. We recommend everyone updating to it as soon as it’s available.

We’ll update this post once it clears Apple’s approval process and is live. This usually takes a few days depending on Apple’s current approval load.

The update is now on the store. Please run a check for updates in iTunes’ Applications section.
